"King Bobo" = David Brooks

He wrote a dreadful book called "Bobos in Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There". Dreadful in the sense that everything he writes is dreadful.

The "Dress British, Think Yiddish" meme is from the 60s, and was printed on buttons like the one I posted a pic of. More on the meme:

I was insulting that idiot Brooks - NOT you!

Friends again?

4. SURE, friends, musette,
but I don't think he's an idiot always, tho I never read him.

I think he's conflicted. He's smart, knows when repugs are wrong, and has problems facing it sometimes. He does pretty well in discussions on Newshour.

5. At least I am assured that you now know I wasn't insulting YOU
Still not a Brooks fan, I find him to be too enthusiastic a water carrier for the repugs, and I find him to not be able to say he's wrong when he's been proven wrong. I am sad now reading the NYT editorials as without Herbert and Rich, the Brookses and the Douhats stand out in sharper relief than before.

6. I unnerstan.
I don't read their columnists, even tho a good friend does and in particular likes dowd. Can't stand her! TOO BAD about Rich, but really haven't relied on NYT since Iraq meltdown. NYT founding family has really squandered its inheritance, imo.
