It's finally spring. That means it's time to....
..plant the garden. Click the link to see how one American is helping many others.

From their website:

"Growing Power transforms communities by supporting people from diverse backgrounds and the environments in which they live through the development of Community Food Systems. These systems provide high-quality, safe, healthy, affordable food for all residents in the community. Growing Power develops Community Food Centers, as a key component of Community Food Systems, through training, active demonstration, outreach, and technical assistance.

Will Allen, our Chief Executive Officer believes, "If people can grow safe, healthy, affordable food, if they have access to land and clean water, this is transformative on every level in a community. I believe we cannot have healthy communities without a healthy food system."

Will Allen and Growing Power are institutions in Milwaukee, helping inner city residents grow significant portions of their own diets.

4. Correct answer.
I just now finished watching "Escape From Suburbia", a documentary about Peak Oil and the reactions of various folks to it - from fleeing America, to making their communities livable. Featured was the former 14 acre community garden in South Central Los Angeles, which was bulldozed after a valiant fight by those who had built it ultimately failed. Truly sickening and heartbreaking.

7. It was decent here yesterday, but today it's back to rain and cold. Thankfully it's not tornadoes,
but we could use some sun and warmth.

10. Same here in NE Iowa. Apparently, Spring is vacationing somewhere this season.
The weather has been so awful it's starting to make me a little nuts. It's depressing to say the least.
