“Women don't want to work as hard as a man,” Rep. Kern (R-Ok)
You may or may not have heard about Rep. Sally Kern's comments on the Oklahoma House Floor while debating SJR15, a measure to do away with affirmative action.
For those who are not aware, here are a couple of snippets:

“We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that’s tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don’t want to study as hard in school? I taught school for 20 years, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn’t want to work as hard” Rep. Kern said. “They wanted it given to them.”

“Women don't want to work as hard as a man,” Rep. Kern said.

1. Every right-winger I know comes up with the same anecdotes, word for word. Just goes to prove
each one of them is lying, and I'm pretty sure they are doing it deliberately too.

I just don't "get" right-wingers. I think their psychology centers around a kind of worship of the rich and of bullies, almost like Ayn Rand who admired a serial killer. I think maybe they don't like themselves very much so they align themselves with the rich and powerful in an attempt to shore up their own ego. That's my best guess anyway.

6. Oh yes, they like bullies.
Look at how they worship Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Really and Trump. For some reason, they like people who pick on the poor, the elderly, and the sick. The very same people who those so called "Evangelicals" are supposed to help according to that Liberal known as Jesus:)......

15. The book _The Authoritarians_, which is available free on the
internet, details longterm psychological studies on that particular mindset, including distinctions between authoritarian leaders and authoritarian followers. You are right--the research shows that the authoritarian followers are attracted to that sort of bullying, abusive attitude and behavior in their leaders.

16. That's an excellent book. I always have thought those followers (and leaders) are
the way they are, because of childhood mistreatment. Every one of those people I've met, seems to have suffered some serious neglect/abuse in childhood.

21. The abuse: yes, I see it the same way.
Love is a many splintered thing: authoritarian, unreasonable and narcissistic daddy and or mumsy. Looks like "family values" or "love".

Look for same in "leaders". They very, very strongly believe in a nanny state, despite protestations. Or Daddy-state.

Perhaps it is insanity that keeps her from working hard.

In putting heart and soul into my work, along with my body, I got the respect of my male coworkers.

Apparently these slobs of either gender in the Republican party, have never put in a hard day of physical labor or worked where they had to sweat or get injured or be in pain.

So they're a bunch of Pillsbury Doughboys without a clue to the real world of working men and women.

Somehow, I believe that she has household help. She looks to be old enough not to have children at home, with a legislator's salary/perks, probably a husband with an income; so, I'll bet she doesn't even cook dinner, let alone clean the closets, bathroom, sweep dust bunnies or any other domestic chore. But, she can call us all a bunch of lazy, stupid women, who don't want to work as hard as men, so we shouldn't get as much money. I work harder than most men and make FAR less money; and always have.

You're right. Stupid bitch needs a smack in the mouth.

edited to add...and in addition to having household (both inside and outside) she probably hires undocumented workers who she really underpays and tells them, they're lucky she doesn't turn them in.

53. LIly livered little feminine bloom has never worked a day in her life.
This woman here swings with the boys and beats them at their own game.

Sojurner Truth's "Ain't I a Woman" comes to mind. That speech was as much about class as it was about race. I'm proudly married to another skilled tradesman who sees my skill and physicality as an asset and would shun a hothouse bloom such as Kern, as they tend to have 'issues'. Men who dislike females who can compete with them have 'issues' of their own.

Too bad this personal dreck and self-loathing all has to be played out on a national scale.
