I heard Alan West on KGO radio in SF state that women need to
stay at home and take care of the house. Sadly the women at his town hall agreed with him. He accused the liberals of convincing women to leave the household behind. Why hasn't this quote hit the MSM?

8. Allen West: American Women to Breed American Warriors

Women Impacting the Nation, or WIN, is a bunch of conservative ladies who want to, you know, impact the nation. On April 19 in Boca, Allen West told them how to do it: Raise strong men.

"...what made the Spartan men strong," said West:

it was the Spartan women. Because the Spartan women at the age of 9 gave up their male sons. And their male sons went into a training that was called the Agoge, and they stayed in that training for the next 11 to 12 years. And when they finally qualified, when they were finally ready to join the ranks of the Spartan army, it was not their father who gave them their cloak and their shield. It was their mother who gave them their shield. And when the Spartan mother gave that young Spartan warrior his shield, she gave him this basic commandment: "Spartan, here is your shield. Come back wearing this shield or being borne upon it."

When Queen Gorgo, wife of King Leonidas, was questioned by the Persian emissary and she spoke somewhat out of turn to this Persian emissary, he tried to rebuke her. And she looked at him and said: "Persian, beware, for it is Spartan women who raise Spartan men."

11. Sick. Spartan society was
extremely authoritarian. There was a small priveleged aristocratic class from which the warriors were recruited. A very small middle class that served the needs of the upper class made up of a farmers and artisans who were the descendants of those peoples whom the Spartans had first conquered, the Perioeci paid taxes and could serve in the army, but had no real political rights. At the bottom were the helots: a slave class descended from those peoples who had resisted subjugation by Sparta. Because the helots were constantly rebelling, the Spartans attempted to control them by forming a secret society that annually murdered any helot suspected of encouraging subversion. Perhaps this is the Repuke vision for the future of America.

19. And that is the point. They forget that it did not take 2 1/2 incomes
to support a family when women had a choice to stay home - even welfare mothers. This is not a liberal creation - it is a rethug economic result.

16. "No nation has ever benefited from prolonged war."
So saith Sun Tzu. And does this Alan West guy actually know what became of Sparta as a city-state? It died because of thr truth of what Sun Tzu said. A nation that pours all of its resources into its military won't survive, just as Sparta did not.

21. HERES AN ARTICLE that might surprise him

U.S. women surpass men in advanced degrees

The educational gains for women are giving them greater access to a wider range of jobs, contributing to a shift of traditional gender roles at home and work. Based on one demographer's estimate, the number of stay-at-home dads who are the primary caregivers for their children reached nearly 2 million last year, or one in 15 fathers. The official census tally was 154,000, based on a narrower definition that excludes those working part-time or looking for jobs.

"The gaps we're seeing in bachelor's and advanced degrees mean that women will be better protected against the next recession," said Mark Perry, an economics professor at the University of Michigan-Flint who is a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.

"Men now might be the ones more likely to be staying home, doing the more traditional child rearing," he said.
