http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/05/sports/ncaafootball/05montana.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1Jimmy Wilson was going back to Missoula Montana in 2007 for what was to be his senior year.
He stopped by his grandmothers house near L.A. to say goodbye and have dinner. His aunt called and said that her boyfriend was drunk and severally abusing her (read the store) so Wilson goes to her nearby house to get her and her 2 kids out of the situation.
The boyfriend is drunk and on a rage. A rifle comes into the situation. The boyfriend ends up dead.
Wilson goes to Montana - big mistake.
He is charged and he returns to L.A. and is arrested. He can't make bail so he spends a year and a half in jail awaiting trial. Hung jury - 11 to 1 in favor of not guilty. The DA recharges Wilson. He spends another 6 months in jail and is acquitted.
Wilson petitions the NCAA for a "sixth year" of eligibility and gets it. Montana decides to stay with him.
Jimmy Wilson got drafted today.
