This is what we need in America: A Robin Hood Tax on the rich!

This is being pushed in Britain at the moment. Hey! Somebody has to be pay for those lavish royal weddings and such. We need to have something like this here. They would tax the banks and benefit social programs. A tax on every bank transactions. The banks owe us big time!

1. Can we please not call it a Robin Hood tax though?

It plays into the right wing meme that taxes are about stealing people's property and not about everyone contributing to the society that brought them success.

Just a pet peeve of mine.

I do like the Robin Hood Tax name though. I could care less what the right-wingers, the rich, and the bankers think. Just being brutally honest!

Lots of talk about how the supposed 20 billion would be spent and sparse/no details on exactly where that money was coming from other than "financial people"
