i will not take these things for granted

one of my all-time favorite songs from a record with the same stature ... not a bad song on it, and a ton of great ones.

Holy balls, Blues Traveler (John Popper in particular) still sound SO FREAKING GOOD I'm astounded

They're coming to the Marquee in Tempe here shortly, with co-headliners Big Head Todd and The Monsters (who I also absolutely love) and we were contemplating whether we wanna drop $100 each for GA tickets so we thought ... lets see how BT sounds these days, and came across this from 2022, and we were both FLOORED

FF to 8:10 mark to catch 'Hook' ... and think about how freaking hard it would be to pull off what Popper is doing at his age here ... the harmonica solo and scatting part that follows ... dude is a stone cold badass. Like, you should NOT still sound this freaking amazing at 55 yo. I'd almost say he's even better than when the song came out when he was in his late 20's.

And the band? NAILS.

my morning jacket - golden (live bonnaroo 2004) if you've never heard this song

after you hear it you'll be like ... wow how TF have I not heard this song?

So, so good ... totally timeless classic could've come out any time after about 1966 I'd say ...

Almost a 1/4 Century in, still waiting for Spoon to put out a bad song

From their upcoming (June '23) EP which I guess is outtakes from their excellent 2022 release Lucifer on the Sofa.

They still sound as vital as they did when they appeared on the scene circa 2000. Britt Daniel is a musical genius.

the cure - shake dog shake (live - rock and roll HOF induction 2019) We're Seeing Them TONIGHT!!!

Along with another DU'er who helped us score brilliant seats at a brilliant price!!! You know who you are, thanks Sister!!!

I absolutely love they opened their set with this dark AF, semi-obscure oldie that totally rocks. In honor of Andy Anderson who played drums on this 1984 album (The Top) who'd recently passed. They rock the shit outta the place!!!

It'll be my 6th time seeing them. Other tours were Standing On A Beach, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Disintegration (2X) and Wish.

So, pistachio fans ... you buy them in the shell or just a bag of nuts?

I firmly believe they are slightly tastier when the come to in the split shell. Sometimes way tastier.

And more just ... fresh-tasting generally.

Sometimes I buy the nuts for convenience/better portability, but around the house? Gimme the ones in the shell!

What say you DU'ers?

Here's what Google Bard said when I asked "why do pistachios taste better when they come in the shell?"

There are a few reasons why people might think that pistachios taste better when they come in the shell.

* The shell protects the nut from oxidation. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that can cause nuts to lose their flavor and nutrients over time. The shell helps to prevent this by keeping the nut sealed in an airtight environment.
* The shell adds a bit of crunch. The shell adds a bit of texture and crunch to the nut, which some people find enjoyable.
* The shelling process can be a fun and satisfying experience. Some people enjoy the challenge of shelling the pistachios, and the feeling of accomplishment when they finally get to the nut.
* The shell can help to slow down the eating process. When pistachios are in the shell, it takes longer to eat them, which can help people to avoid overeating.
