This new format is the best I've seen here on DU. I hope it is a keeper.

I tried to copy and paste using "print screen" but could not get it to print on this post

Etta James, Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody Business -- A NEW NATIONAL ANTHEM

Reproductive rights are about a hell of lot more than pregnancy termination. The Ohio constitutional amendment ensures, “Every individual has a right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions … on contraception, fertility treatment, continuing one’s own pregnancy, miscarriage care, and abortion.”
For anyone other than the individual making that decision, these three women offer some counsel for you. Maybe it should be a women’s national anthem until it becomes codified nationally.

Put the arsenic bottle back on the shelf. NYT needs to retain their GOP subscribers

Every ounce of doubt created about Biden is warmly received at the Federalist Society. Presidential elections are about Supreme Court appointments. Those who weakened Hillary's campaign let Trump appoint three monsters to the Supreme Court. All Democrats have to remember that Gore lost the election by a SCOTUS decision. For the doubters and naysayers, I ask, if the next election has to be decided by SCOTUS, would you not agree it is 4 more years of Trump. Some here, worried about the DNC decisions seem to for get that their front and back porch are on fire and they continue to pick out new wallpaper for the dining room. Purity tests for Clinton put Trump in office.

Good Job Democratic Underground! I did an early renew of my Star membership to show my support of your continued effort

I find that this forum has an informed membership, not only on political views but on most things. It is a great resource to get an opinion from fair minded people. As far as the new format goes, it is a great way to continually challenge my 78 year old mind. My next challenge is to get a lot of people younger than me to subscribe. We need this. New people will like the new format.

"I wanted to send you an important update regarding the 2023 NRCC Fall Gala in Dallas, TX. I want you to be the first to know – in consultation with our Leadership team and many of you – we have decided to postpone this dinner. Our focus next week needs to be the election of our next Speaker and the legislative work before us. This Gala is a high priority for the NRCC and all funds raised directly support efforts to grow our House Republican majority. That mission is as important as ever, and I need your continued support to make it a reality. I know I can count on you. We are working diligently to have a new date for you in the near future," writes Republican Spirit Committee Chair Congressman Rich Hudson after that no-good dope smoking punk Matt Gaetz and his misfit crew ruined the team's unity right when they're getting ready for the big game against the Democrats.

Hudson did not say whether Gaetz would still be allowed to bring his 17 year-old date to the prom.

Shooting themselves in the foot--next week in Dallas

He would look to reschedule the gala!!! -cancel hotels, flights, caterers, limos,. There are going to be a lot of angry people in Dallas on this one. How do you reschedule when you don't even have a Speaker
These are the kind of moments I wish for for the Republican Party.

These people must really hate Matt Gaitz. Their usual fun time is cancelled

Trump ACCIDENTALLY CELEBRATES Decision by DA that will SCREW HIM

Source: MeidasTouch

MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on why the decision by the Westchester County District Attorney not to charge Trump is actually bad news for Trump because the decision was not made on the merits but because other entities had jurisdiction.

As a resident of Briarcliff Manor, New York can a homeowner appeal the property assessment of another owner? In this case Trump hurt the school operating budget and a lot of the owners are angry.

Read more:

The village of Briarcliff has approximately 2,400 parcels of property on record, and property taxes will likely rise by an average $245 next year as a result of the club’s actions. This means local residents will effectively be subsidizing Trump’s golf course. The club was emboldened to pull this scheme because the same local government recently lost a court case against Sleepy Hollow Country Club in which a judge ruled that “there is no mandate to value golf courses or country clubs using any particular techniques.” The club is now exploiting that decision for his own profit.

About New Haven

A child of the 60's, a lifelong Democrat and a sense that our elected officials , especially the President, set the tone of civility in our great country. I worked on JFK's campaign and on Barack Obama's (twice). High School Class of 1963 I was moved by MLK's March on Washington, and to see that go full circle and have Barack Obama for President is quite gratifying. When I see remnants of the John Birch society still quite active in the Tea Party/MAGA it strengthens my beliefs and support of the Democratic Party.
