About tweets that are deleted:

There is a thread in GD regarding the topic of a possible coup in China.

The OP posted it with no malice. It was a tweet that has since been removed and yet the OP is still there. Is there anyway to alert on a post like this? I ask because it seems like it is passing false information or disinformation.

What does our community do about tweets that are deleted and yet the OP still stands?

I cried when he spoke of the aftermath of nazi Germany. I had family that was among that group. I never met them, and they are not spoken of in my family. I know very little about them.

My 4 grandparents were born in Germany. To the best of my knowledge, they came to the USA before the war. I can only definitely confirm that my grandparents on my mother's side came over in the teens. IOW, before WW2. Those scars run deeper than Arnold speaks of. It became generational here on our shores as well. I'm a second-generation American.

He's right about the damage done to families. Trust me when I say the trauma is passed down until it is dealt with. The trauma stopped and healing began with the second generation in my family.

That said, we must hold people accountable before we can heal and reunite. Nixon being pardoned may have had a short term healing, but we are suffering the damage of that action. The people involved, the people that incited this need to be held to account. Accountability is not vengeance.

We need to impeach again so future generations will be given a nation that had a chance to be able to unite and heal.

I've struggled with making this announcement here and on FB and twitter as we have so many great candidates.

For me, she combines brutal honesty with policy papers that I feel can be legislated.

It's a sad state of affairs that I feel like I need to say that this is NOT a knock on other D candidates.

I will vote Blue in the general. I will not knock or candidates but will say that some people need not be in this race.

Tonight, for now, I am NOT looking at Bloomberg.

Overall, I am not willing to tolerate any candidate that attacks Clinton or Obama.

I'm a witness to what my husband posted on FB. I am sharing it here because I think DU will like it.

Last weekend, one of our neighbors had a party (they tend to - a lot) and several of their guests parked in front of our house. The next morning, we saw that one of them had dumped some trash from their car on our front yard. We were pretty pissed.

We were busy this week, and didn't do anything about it. Today, I noticed there was a bill in there with their address.

So - I boxed up the trash and mailed it to them. Sure, that's 7 bucks and change out of my pocket, but I would just love to be there when they open it up.

Not gonna lie, I love giving hearts.

I wish people knew me a little more on DU so they knew why I gave them.

Families Belong Together March: Who marched today and where?

If this is already a Thread, I will gladly delete if you can point me to said thread.

We were in DC today and I was astounded at the turnout, Sounds like 30-50K -- and I am REALLY cool with that as I am seeing that it looks like the march was millions over the country and the world. It was REALLY hot here in DC and people still showed up -- TONS of preteens and teens with their parents. I talked to a few parents and they told me that it was their kids that wanted to be there.

Many kids insisted on parents showing up.

Did you or a friend march today? Let's share it together!


(Side note, here in DC, there was a trump policy rally -- I was told by a DC Police officer 1600 signed up. They were supposed to march the other way the Families Belong Together March was heading on Pennsylvania Avenue. They are silly people.)

My fave part of the day was being a part of the protesters who surrounded the Department of Justice building.

I know you don't know who sent you hearts.

But I want to say that I loved giving everyone one of my hearts away.

I love being a member here, and I appreciate this community.

Per a friend in the city:

Stafford County Registrar Greg Riddlemoser has thrown out over 1000 absentee ballots on a technicality. He has also refused to release the names of provisional voters in defiance of the State Board of Elections order.

Washington Post has been contacted as has NBC4.

I personally reached out to Dave Wasserman at the Cook Political Report and Benjamin Tribbet -- both of whom were intrumental in making sure Herring's recount was done properly a few years ago.


If anyone knows of a lawyer, let's get a judge to clear this up!
