https://www.rt.com/news/433524-browder-steele-mcfaul-investigation/Absolutely insane if true.
Trump wants to hand over several Americans to Putin including CIA agents and US politicians in exchange for Putin allowing Trump to question the 12 indicted Russian spies so he could obstruct the Mueller investigation.
This sounds insane. Sounds like a fake story, but real and serious people involved are tweeting about it.
Trump literally surrendered American sovereignty in that meeting if this is true. Americans who have angered Putin can be subject to Russian law. Whoa.

(115,900 posts)Bill Browder was born in the U.S. but he is a British citizen so Trump can't "hand him over" to the Russians anyhow; Steele is also British. There was some discussion at the Trump-Putin treasonfest about an offer by Putin to let Mueller interview the 12 Russians in exchange for Browder, but obviously that can't happen even if Spanky thinks it's a good idea.

(19,193 posts)Putin wants to be able to interrogate several other US intelligence assets. It would not surprise me if Trump agreed to all of this, however, I don't think he will be allowed to start handing over people to Putin.

(52,387 posts)it may be reassuring to note that our bureaucracy would prevent donnie from actually doing it, but it's outrageous and horrifying if donnie's considering it for even a brief moment.
i agree with the grain of salt as to what's going through donnie's twisted mind, though whether or not they discussed it at the "summit" doesn't much matter now as it's clearly "on the table" now in any event. what matters is if anything comes of it, if donnie even floats a trial balloon that would be chilling indeed.

Putin wants Michael McFaul, our former Ambassador to Russia, because he blames him for Bill Browder's success in getting sanctions passed. He's been after Bill Browder ever since the Magnitsky debacle, claiming he owes the Russian State $400 million. And turning over our IC guys? When pigs fly!
This is more breast-beating from Putin, the Mob Boss.

(19,193 posts)A young man from the local Democratic Party was going door to door in my neighborhood last night. I talked to him for a while and he asked me what I want from my party. My answer was that I wanted a Democratic Party that will fight dirty, and I want one that will play offense rather than just react to the latest outrage from Trump. Dems have been terrible at anticipating Trump's next outrage. The worst you can imagine, Trump will try it. He is not governed by norms, the law, or human decency.
Dems need to start having a plan for the unthinkable. What will Dems do when Trump starts having his political opponents jailed? What will Dems do when he starts asking for the assassinations of American Political figues? What will they do when he tries to hand over US citizens to Putin?
Dem leadership still seems to think we are in a normal political fight, it's not a normal political fighjt and hasn't been for a long time. This is plainly a fight between fascism and democracy. Dems must stop fascism by any means necessary or we will no longer have Democracy.

If you can find a legitimate source for the claim, then post a proper link. RT is a propaganda outlet straight from Putin. It is not accepted on DU as a legitimate source for information.

WH press sec Sanders acknowledged that Putin talked to Trump about his interest in prosecuting financier Bill Browder and former US ambassador Michael McFaul. she declined to rule out US cooperation in that effort, saying Trump would consult his national security team.
