Why did so many in Trump campaign lie about meeting with Russians?

Were they ordered to lie by their "Boss"?

Or were they conscious of "something" that wasn't right about associating with all those Russians?

Was there a "consciousness of guilt" that something was wrong?

Why would they not simply admit to having discussions with the Russian Ambassador, etc? There would have been nothing wrong about that except that they knew the Russians were under suspicion even as they sat down to talk.

This has never added up for me.

I guess the fact is they lie about almost everything.

But, to Kentuck's point: The reason they all lied about this is because they knew what they were doing was wrong and likely illegal. They knew!

"Russian Problem" so they all deflected and denied, outright lied their asses off, beat around the bushes, lied through their teeth at every bend and turn, obfuscated, bent the truth, played an endless game of Ring Around the Rosie, refused to tell the truth -although they knew there was a risk of suffering the consequences of committing perjury, because they knew if was necessary to conceal the "Russian Reality" because it would make problems for team trDump if the whole truth be known the extent Russia pulled the strings to get their idiot conman who had much to be ashamed of - in the White House and parked behind the desk in the Oval Office.

They did not give a damn, they only wanted the win. trDump thought he could exert the royal powers of a king and shut any inquiries down by his royal decrees.

Then he, his family, and his henchmen could rape America of it's riches, resources, and treasures absent any shred of oversight. trDump would become a more powerful Oligarch, which he long envied and worshiped, exceeding the riches of Putin himself five times over.

His intention was to be King shit of the entire world. How dare Team Mueller throw a monkey wrench into his King Maker Plan. Mueller will reduce King trDump to the Carnival Barker, snake oil salesman, and little more than a two bit conman he was, is, and always will be.

There are two groups in question here, with some overlap between them. The first is made up of individuals who were involved in the coordinated effort with Russian military intelligence & mob. They lied because they were stupid enough to believe a combination of two things: first, that with Trump in the White House, they were covered, and second, that "everybody does illegal things at this level."

The second group is comprised of individuals who learned later about the cooperation, and were not directly involved in the inner circle of Trump's campaign. These are the type of people who will lie for money. They believed that being in the administration gave them access to power and profit.

Combined, they are exactly the type of scum that should never be in any government position other than "inmate."
