From the testimony of Ukraine envoy William Taylor to House impeachment investigators:
Q: And when you say that, this was the first time I heard that the security assistancenot just the White House meetingwas conditioned on the investigation, when you talk about conditioned, did you mean that if they didnt do this, the investigations, they werent going to get that, the meeting and the military assistance?
A: That was my clear understanding, security assistance money would not come until the President [of Ukraine] committed to pursue the investigation.
Q: So if they dont do this, they are not going to get that was your understanding?
A: Yes, sir.
Q: Are you aware that quid pro quo literally means this for that?
A: I am.

I'll let some of the dumb-ass trumpkies off the hook given low IQ and being fed toxic stews. I'd like to see everyone that has contributed to the fux empire suffer greatly.

(7,366 posts)It's the *nature* of the quid/quo that's at issue.
If the this is a buck for a sandwich, no problem.
If the this is a buck so you don't kill me, a problem.
If the this is a buck for a ride, no problem.
If the this is a buck for drugs, a problem.
I thought we all already understood how this works.
