It was Tom Hanks in a zip up cardigan and tennies.
Sorry.

(15,207 posts)But Rotten Tomatoes loves it! I adored Fred Rogers (watched him with my daughters) and loved the documentary about him last year. But this just didn't capture me at all. It was just Tom Hanks trying to be Fred. I'm sure lots of people will love it.

(which should have been called Jason Segel wants to do a movie with The Muppets" ).
It got a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, and my wife and I hated it.
The promos of the movie look like its about how Mr Rogers helps this fictional guy be less cynical.

(15,207 posts)The story about the journalist was ok. You just shouldn't try to duplicate Fred IMHO.

(12,265 posts)My husband and I love Fred Rogers so I don't think anyone playing him would satisfy us.

(24,802 posts)A story wrapped around the character / personage of Mr. Rogers...
but, well done, I thought and enjoyable.
And yes, if you really want to delve into the life of Fred Rogers, the documentary was great.
