Not that my opinion matters, but I have made my choice for who I wish Joe would pick. I hope he goes with Keisha Lance Bottoms. She has been impressive throughout a whole series of issues.

(2,113 posts)But I understand we can't afford to lose her Senate seat. Also, the time is now for a POC. (Past time, actually.)
So now, I'm leaning towards Tammy Duckworth. She's smart, effective and honorable. We wouldn't lose the Senate seat because Gov. Pritzker is a Democrat & would appoint her replacement accordingly.
As an aside, if we take enough Senate seats to secure a Democratic majority, I'd like to see Elizabeth Warren as Secretary of the Treasury.

(24,802 posts)Lawrence O'Donnell show...every time I hear her my BP goes down a little. So competent, confident, smart. I would feel so secure with her as VP.
I don't know what she would be like as Prez, if it came to that?

(28,914 posts)I would support the ticket no matter what,
but I really like other Black women better,
such as Susan Rice, Michelled Obama, or
Stacey Abrams.
And I also really like Tammy Duckworth
and Elizabeth Warren.

(11,838 posts)...so I'm not coming off that position. Now, having said that, we have an absolute embarrassment of riches when it comes to Women as VP, so I would honestly be tickled pink to support any of the likely candidates mentioned.

(86,963 posts)I have been happily surprised that most of my Independent friends think so too. After listening to her speak anywhere, I am convinced of her skills and abilities to hold any office in the executive branch.
