(3,577 posts)We call it early voting. No excuse is required here (the corrupt Republican-dominated legislature has not gotten around to change that yet).

trumpsters think Democrats will cheat, when all the evidence shows that GOPers have cheated, and are more likely to cheat, with mail-in ballots.

(34,195 posts)In my opinion, voting by mail is just what it says.
Voting absentee may mean you will be out of state for some reason at the time of the election.

(42,316 posts)From Ohio, I will note that we have "in-person absentee" voting that is done early at a central location as well as "Mail-in absentee" which can actually be dropped off in person to the BOE as well as mailed)--in this case, "absentee" means you won't be showing up at the regular polling place on election day.
The "precise process" he's blathering on about means that every ballot is requested and recorded---the ballots are barcoded so you can't easily counterfeit them and stuff the ballot box. He doesn't know what he's talking about and only the similarly ignorant believe him.

(44,986 posts)Some states allow absentee voting by mail, but you have to have some reason (for instance, you will be out of state on the day of an election).
Some states allow absentee voting by mail without needing a specific reason.
