Florida Governor said he would not close fitness centers because exercise was important to cardiovascular health. So is living. Seriously? If you die from COVID-19 I doubt very much that you care about your cardiovascular health. Also from what Ive read about the disease its going to affect your kidneys, brain, lungs and could lead to strokes. When they were passing out brains I think some of these folks got left behind.

(84,101 posts)We're trying. But hubby is a public school teacher. We watched the county school board meeting this week and were appalled. They have no plan, no clue what to do when cases develop.
He can retire but then we couldn't afford health insurance. We're examining our options. He really wants to teach another year or two - he loves his job and his students. I keep saying it's not worth your life.
This is an impossible situation that teachers and school staff are in. I am beyond angry about it.

their hardcore base is still listening to limbaugh explain it as a hoax and if it isn't a hoax it's the democrats' fault
anyone who thinks it's not possible for them to do this on purpose has not been paying attention. they used ebola fear in oct 2014 to get 9 senate seats and learned their lesson, why wouldn't they try it again?

It's up to us. DUers are much smarter than these overpaid, underworked empty suits.
I survived Tommy Thompson and Scott Walker. I'm indestructible (with my mask).

(18,015 posts)A person's physical health is only one of many factors that affect immune response. The W shaped curve for 1918 flu deaths by age is a case in point. The jackass, like virtually all Rethuglican, is a dumb hack. A stupid asshole is no way to go through life.
But hey...a huge junk of the Florida electorate voted for this imbecile. Reap it, folks. Reap it.

Many of them are horrified at both trump and his Florida boot-licker.
The pandemic is out of control here. It may get better since Im finally seeing almost universal mask use, but thats in the Orlando area. In the more red areas they are hit or miss.
Publix announced they will now require masks(finally). I sent a couple of emails to them about it.
We are so fucked.

Mussolini knew. He would have moved immediately and ruthlessly to protect the state's economy. But he would have also immediately recognized the opportunity offered by a disease that seemed to specialize in removing the burden of retired and incapacitated ex-workers.
