They will not tell the truth. They will not reveal anything we don't already know if they would tell the truth. Anything else they will cover up, dodge it etc. We all know that just from observing these cretins for the past several years. We ALL KNOW this.
If they would tell the truth, the only thing they'd have to bring to this is clearly and essentially what we all witnessed on our tv's.
What the whole world watched on their tv. As it was happening.
It would not only be a waste of time, there's a damn good chance they would lie, make shit up, and blow up in our faces.
Everyone knows what the President Knew, and When He Knew it.
The current members of Republican Senators will ignore the facts and continue to bury their heads.
I just heard that McConnell will vote to acquit in advance of the conclusion of this trial. just now.

(7,289 posts)I only heard McConnell's email report as i was finishing that email when the pundits were talking about witnesses.
Even though I knew McConnell was going to vote to acquit, it still felt like a gut punch to hear it announced in advance.
Just hurts, even though I knew not to trust him.
McConnell's announcement in advance to me, says to the world, what happened to the Capitol on behest of the President, is perfectly fine for the Republican Party.

(7,289 posts)My heart is breaking though.. I don't know why. I feel like McConnell once again betrayed our country for the sake of his party.
I'm sickened.
Trial is starting. Hear ye, Hear ye. On pain of imprisonment. Wouldn't that be nice if it were true.

We don't just fold because McConnell says he'll acquit.

(7,289 posts)We know this for the same reason why we know that a number of law enforcement across the spectrum of agencies was and still is in the pocket of White Supremacists.. Read: Trump.
So it's a risk factor that can't be discounted.

(8,938 posts)They have learned during the Trump presidency that compliance with congressional subpoenas is unnecessary. Refuse it, and let it go into the courts, taking months and years to resolve.
