We're going to need a huge war chest in order to fund races for the House and Senate. Not just to unseat the cretins who failed to convict Trump in the impeachment trial, but in order to keep and expand our majority in the House.
As disgusted as the big-pocketed donors may be with the Republicans, they may not want to fund their opposition. Conservatives definitely won't want to fund a Democratic Congress that supports President Biden's unabashedly progressive agenda.
What do you think?

What else will we have to give them to get them to go along with the rest?

(10,192 posts)They won't be giving to any Democratic Socialists. A lot of Chamber of Commerce types seem to be quite pleased with Biden so folks who are politically Biden-like could benefit from donors who were spooked by the 1/6 insurrection.

(58,795 posts)Don't know that that will lead to them giving to Dems, but if they're turned off about donating to repubs, that works in our favor.
Gonna need a lot of work from Jaime Harrison and the crew this cycle.

(66,530 posts)2022 is almost more important than 2024. There doesn't seem to be any real buzz that Joe Biden will seek a second term. Kamala Harris is perfectly positioned to be our nominee for POTUS. But we need to keep the House and the Senate before anything else...

(3,635 posts)who agree with Dems on things like climate change, social justice etc... iow those that think more like Bloomberg, Gates, Buffett etc.
They are willing to pay higher taxes to see a better world, and that is how Biden/Dems can sell it to them.

(58,795 posts)the country needs more than just the stock market doing well to really get anywhere. Big corps need customers, sports need butts in the seats, Hollywood needs fans in the theaters.
Until we crush the 'rona and get people back to work and doing leisure shit again, the whole economy will stay in the toilet.

If anything, they'll toy with the idea of a third party, farther to the right, then give up on that because it makes no sense.

(22,430 posts)They would donate to Democrats only in places so blue a republican has no chance.
