Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price on Rush Limbaugh

First, a link to a DU thread from about a year ago on Dan Price:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/1016248399

Dan Price posted this thread a few minutes ago, starting with the tweet here, full text below:

I grew up listening to Rush Limbaugh 3 hours a day as a home-schooled kid. My parents idolized him.

5 years ago my parents called me: "Rush is about to talk about you!"

I was in the news for slashing my CEO pay to raise our min wage to $70k. I excitedly turned on his show (1/6)

Rush said: "I hope this company is a case study in MBA programs on how socialism does not work, because it’s gonna fail."

I was completely devastated. My dad said he thought Rush got this one wrong. But it was a huge blow and led to a flood of hate-mail against me. (2/6)

Rush turned out to be right: we were a MBA case study. Harvard Business School concluded the $70k min wage was a huge success. Our revenue tripled. Retention and productivity skyrocketed. We were featured as success stories everywhere from the BBC to the New York Times. (3/6)

Rush incorrectly described our company - saying everyone would make $70k, when in reality only me and a few new employees do. It's a min wage. It's not socialism, and he knew that.

He never agreed to have me on to give my side. He never did an updated story on our success. (4/6)

To this day, his listeners assume we failed. One of the top auto-complete Google searches for our company is "out of business."

I've had 5 years to tell our story and prove him wrong, but most people who are crushed with misinformation don't have that luxury. (5/6)

I'm sad Rush Limbaugh died, and my thoughts are with his family. I know it's a sad day for a lot of people. But I'm not sad that his show is over. My little story of crossing paths with him was one segment among thousands of episodes. He hurt a lot of people with his words. (6/6)

The misinformation just becomes a story that people never learn the truth about. That’s how Trumpsters go thru life, they here a story and it’s their forever truth. In their minds Trump built an Apple manufacturer in WI, he saved a refrigerator company in Indiana, struck a good trade deal. They never hear that those things were all failures.

It is a defense mechanism. Their compartmentalized conclusions are unfazed by facts.

And hypocrisy is not a problem for them.

We need a better way to deal with them.

He was an abusive, narcissistic jerk who enabled the abusive, narcissistic jerks in the world. He destroyed families over his partisan bullshit and ruined countless lives over his racist, sexist, and homophobic bullshit. And 40 years of his abuse enabled the biggest narcissistic, abusive jerk of them all to become president and nearly tear down the very fundamental fabric of society. So that, I say, he should neither be celebrated nor mourned.

water in the middle of a devastating winter storm, asking for help from local government, is wait for it... socialism

These folks are not joking. They are conditioning their followers to believe that govt is not supposed to help you. Meanwhile they have no problem helping big business.

I noticed the same language Robot Barbie used against Senator Warnock. She claimed he was a radical that wanted people to be dependent on the Govt.

What an understatement. His lies hurt an entire nation. There's no telling what the United States would be like today if Ronald Reagan hadn't deep sixed the fairness doctrine, which ushered in the likes of lying scumbags like Limbaugh. They're the direct cause of the division within our country today. They're also the direct cause of the racism and the death of America's middle class.

Rotten bastards, all.
