Rand Paul won the straw poll in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Ted Cruz won in 2016.

On a side note, does anyone else find it absolutely repugnant that their “convention” echo chamber is being broadcast on cspan ?!?!

Their activities have nothing to do with U.S. government functions, but those of a group of insurrectionist nuts who are attempting to attack and dismantle it!

There’s a loss of EVs if both candidates are from the same State.

The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves.

e.g. if the Florida Electors voted for Trump as Pres., they could not then vote for De Santis as VP.

He’s their only actual shot of winning IMO. He’s the only candidate this is pretty popular among the MAGA base and has the possibility of appearing normal enough to peel off enough independent voters to swing the election.

I think Desantis shows up in the poll as the hometown favorite. I haven't seen any strength in the rest of the country.

He is NOT seen as normal, at all, and basically lost to a weak candidate here.

but Limbaugh already had cancer and, well, I am making an exception for the Pig.

Any other outcome and he is more of a martyr or back trying to become dictator.

Even if he is senile, he will still try it.

Guessing DeSantis is getting a temporary Florida-host bump for allowing a crowd their size to gather indoors. And that stronger potential candidates aren't attending.

Sad to say, we actually know someone who's moving from CA to FL for, as Cruz and Mel Gibson put it, "FREEEDUM!" Or so he deludes himself.

I mean, the guy even looked the other way after Trump tried to have him assassinated, and for his troubles he can't even beat Ben Carson, who's been sleeping since 2017.
