With Respect To An Infrastucture Bill Monies Need To Be Included........

in it for follow-up Preventive Maintenance on a scheduled basis to maintain the infrastructure going forward so we never again get into this disrepair situation like we're currently in.

It makes no sense to repair bridges, roads and other structures and let them fall into disrepair again because the States they're in can't afford maintaining them.

What do you think?

Obviously these monies aren't enough. In Missouri, we have over 6,000 bridges, and this is just in MO. I guess if you're a republican, you automatically think that the bridges, roads, other infrastructure elements automatically fix themselves (there are robots that come out from underneath the bridges and such late at night, and fix these things w/o us seeing them). I wonder how many republicans believe this sort of thing, or better yet, what do they propose in paying for these repairs? They knew that infrastructure was a big issue, and did not deal w/ it during their time in power. Why not? Didn't want to touch this red button issue and do their job that they should have been doing?

There is no way they would raise taxes on the rich that they just gave a big tax cut to.

There is no way they'd raise taxes on tge rest of us because they would lose their talking point about the 'tax and spend' Dems.

It was pegged to cents per gallon rather than a percentage. So it has not risen over time. Meanwhile increased fuel efficiency drives down the tax collected.

All of this while the cost of construction and maintenance has gone way up

It is an outdated system and will need to change at some point.
