We initially planned on going last October but with the COVID-19 still raging we decided against it last April.
This year it was starting to look hopeful but there were some concerns. The last straw was DeSantis and the Florida legislature and the signing the 'Anti-Riot' Bill into law. We discussed it this morning and unfortunately put the kabash on a trip until things settle down if that is possible. My concern is this law could be open to interpretation; if it is found we voted the 'wrong' way what would happen? The 'vote stupid like you do up North' comment makes me think things a bordering on out of control. This is a risk we are not willing to take. It is unfortunate. I vacationed in Florida, particularly in the Ft Lauderdale-Pompano many times when I was younger & loved it a lot and wanted at least one more shot to vacation there.
Our plans may take us now to other places. Virginia Beach has been discussed, Outer Banks possibly and even Myrtle Beach if S C don't catch a case of the crazies too. One way or another we will start making plans again.

I loved the Outer banks back in the 90s.... but they are having terrible flooding problems now with the rising ocean. Such a shame.

Around half of Fla votes blue with no problem btw
