From what I remember, 3 days after he murdered George, Chauvin wanted to plead guilty and Barr said no.
Just think, we could have avoided the riot in Minneapolis and this trial.

I hate Bill Barr as much as the next person, but all Barr did was refuse to sign away the DOJ's ability to prosecute Chauvin. Which was the right thing to do, probably.

(34,154 posts)Chauvin was willing to plead guilty and serve at least 10 years, in exchange for ending the risk of subsequent litigation. That's pretty standard. Barr refused to go along with it.
