Pop is calling: Kids and grandkids on the line with President Joe Biden

(CNN)Joe Biden says he has a strict rule about his phone: No matter what's happening, he always answers a call from one of his grandchildren.

Biden said on the campaign trail that he kept up with them every day of the pandemic with calls and texts, and now the ritual has carried over to his life in the White House. He checks in on his grandchildren with almost religious devotion, often reaching out multiple times a week, according to two people familiar with the first family's habits.

"No topic is off limits," one of them said, even if "sometimes the kids don't want to tell him everything."

It isn't just his family he's calling, of course. The Biden cold call is a feature of his decades-long political career in Washington, and just about every political veteran in town has gotten a surprise buzz at one time or another. And these days, he regularly picks up the phone to call key members of Congress, aides say.

The Previous Guy's version of a Biden Cold Call was walking into the dressing rooms of naked or near-naked teenagers. I found that only slightly more surprising, but vastly less endearing.

Last November.

The GOP is not going to let another election slip thru their fingers again. They want a dictatorship but with the GOP as the dictator. The voting rights act (HR1) must be passed. If Schumer does not get this done because he cannot stand up to Manchin in order to change the filibuster then we are in for a very rough time.

President Biden has been as good (if not better) then any reasonable expectation there was of him upon entering the office, but there is still work to be done. President Biden has done excellent at getting COVID 19 at least roughly contained and is taking huge swings at knocking it down. I, Thank You from the bottom of my heart President Biden for this. Over 580,000 Americans have died, 2 of that number I knew and were my friends.

Two of President Obama’s greatest mistakes was not pursuing accountability of Bush Jr. & his administration for 2 wars & torture. Also not pursuing accountability of Wall St. for the financial collapse they caused in 2008. I think a big part of the behavior we saw in DT and his admin stemmed from these people seeing what others did previously in the 2000’s and walk away scott free w/o ever being held accountable. President Obama’s comment/decision that we need to look forward not backwards was a terrible choice. I hope President Biden does not make this choice.

What Trump did in the last 4yrs was so far over the line that it cannot be ignored, it will not be forgotten and it certainly should not go unanswered. History will be watching intently to see if America really is the Democracy built on Law & Order as it claims to be or if that only applies when convenient. Holding Trump accountable for lying about COVID-19 and a response that allowed half a million Americans to die then trying to cancel an election to stay in power will cause turmoil in America. Some people will throw tantrums like the GOP, other may even act out in vengeance but it must be done. America must show that even when it’s most powerful citizen (The President) abused their power and cause violence/death it was strong enough to hold that person and all who aided that person accountable. If this is not done others will come in the future and do much worse. The world and history is watching President Biden, both hope you make the right decision.

I cannot even imagine where we would be today had DT won the election or been successful at his overthrow of the Government. I cannot imagine the scenario that the GOP is floating about Trump running again in 2024....and this time having the right people who will find 11,780 or however many is needed for him to be President again. Being a 1 term President is something Trump would desperately like to change. If he is healthy and IF he has not been held accountable I think he will definitely run again in 2024 and he will make sure this time he wins...
