a website, background info on issue, talking points!!!!, strong short counter-arguments, printables (rally signs, bumper stickers, etc.), action plan for local parents
and perhaps even an idea of how to go on offense instead of always being on defense,
basic coordination and fundamental messaging, to respond to this vicious, damaging and false attack. Is that too much to ask? is it?

(51,438 posts)If you have any local elected Democrats let them know.
Same for any elected Democratic congressional members representing you.
And of course the two I mentioned.

That's all it is.
Just Google this freak Christofer Rufo:

There are tons of links online and I don't for a minute believe that Dem strategists are unaware of this. They need to fuel parents and teachers with the truth

I'm a precinct leader. We don't act on our own. There is a structure so that we work in unison for maximum power.

(36,119 posts)Where is the "squad" on this?
Where is Dem leadership?
CRT is a smoke and mirrors bullshit game, so why isn't someone higher up the chain than we the peons, with media access, exposing this stuff and showing everyone else the way?
Public workers were supposed to be the backbone of the Democratic party

(32,823 posts)have been ineffective. We need to have a different selection process. I really wanted Jamie to win the Senate seat. It didn't work out because lindsey is a liar who most likely shook down South Carolina officials right before trying to shake down Georgia's SOS. But I digress....
Great ideas don't automatically mean someone will be great at marketing and PR. Time to change our approach and get marketing gurus into that seat.
Hell, maybe even a group of comedians would work. The GqOP is a joke and should be treated as such. It should be flat out embarrassing to be a republican.

(32,091 posts)CRT isn't being taught in schools. These gop parents are making stuff up.
I think - you are making this up in your head - that's a good response

(12,711 posts)Take the argument away from them.
Since CRT is an upper level University course that isn't even presented to students during their first 4 years to a bachelor's degree, simply say, "yes, we don't think it's an appropriate class for most K-12 to take, and since very few students would be able to understand both the context of the theory and have the maturity to handle the pedagogy to explore the theory, we agree Critical Race Theory shouldn't be taught in K-12 schools...
Next..."
And leave it at that. Redirection is a great tool good kindergarten teachers use all the time. And frankly, most of these CRT protesters pretty much failed kindergarten, from what I can tell by their actions.
You can still teach the history of of the US, including race and gender and class , appropriately to each age group that is learning it. And do it in a more or less "positive" way without whitewashing it. Point out the myths - you know -the "Rest of the Story" and how they were used as popular celebrity morality tales to get reactions from average people rather than actual truth that was usually not as exciting or compelling to most even then. Compare those historical myths and propoganda to memes.
It's not CRT, it's history that's factual and relevant. And teach some civics while you're at it.
History is to be learned from and provide a way to explore improvement of society. It's not just names and dates.

They seek to ban teaching of historical facts that hurt white people's feewings.

(12,711 posts)And spouse just reminded me most of these lunkheads actually don't want history taught at all, they want the bible and other myths taught instead. And even then, only once in school. Just like they don't care about English.
They don't even want civics taught.
Heck, most of them would be happy if the kids could quit school in the fifth grade and go to some daycare/crafts club/apprenticeship facility where kids would just hang out, learn a job and stay out mom or dad's hair until they were old enough to be out on their own.
Sorry for being cynical, but for all their whining about quality education, these parents really don't care about an honest education for their kids.
