Back on 09/24/2021 I created an ActBlue link to donate to Abby Finkenauer for US Senate. The goal was to get to $88, to match Grassley's age. We have done ten times that amount so far.


The problem is she is not the only D running for Grassley's seat. So I just created a bare bones link for the time being for Dr. Glenn Hurst. You now have a choice between the two for the PRIMARY race to face US Sen. Grassley.

I will not be creating ANY more links for D's in contested primary races. I will be promoting BOTH of these links until the primary is over next year

Is there a logic behind why you included these two, but left out Franken, Krause and Muhlbauer?

I personally look sideways at anyone promoted by the Iowa Democratic Party. They have a track record of putting forward really uninspiring candidates. Fikenauer couldn’t even get reelected as an incumbent U.S. representative. Why do they think she’ll have more appeal when she runs as a non-incumbent for senate?

4. The logic

A couple DUers asked for a link for Abby. I recognized her name. I'd heard of her here across the border in Nebraska. I heard the party and labor was backing her, so I opened a link. That was easy.

A few weeks ago I found out Dr. Hurst was walking the picket line at John Deere. Remember the DU Labor Group is named after me and I run it: https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1117 After looking up his info I decided to open THE LAST link for the 2022 primary season.

Dave Muhlbauer and Michael Franken don't have ActBlue accounts yet that I can find.

So the short story is I added Dr. Hurst because he is supporting unions with his actions.
