(32,178 posts)The city is being sued. Attorneys don't want to sue R himself because that would re-litigate the trial and we know how that turned out. Suing the city not only has much deeper pockets but allows different claims to be litigated.

(4 posts)Without a jury of 11 whites and one black and a pro Rittenhouse judge I see no reason why not to sue Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse wasnt even convicted of illegally carrying a weapon (what appeared to be an assault rifle) when everyone knew from the video thats exactly what he was doing. Rittenhouse was convicted of nothing. Thats a ginormous outrage.
I live in Minnesota and am embarrassed to share a border with the state of Wisconsin. I believe that lawsuits should be launched against both the state and Rittenhouse. His acquittal on all charges is as shameful as the acquittal of O.J. Simpson. So the trial was relitigated by suing Simpson. Rittenhouses mother should also be sued for contributing to the delinquency of a minor her own child. If you ever have trouble vomiting I suggest rather than taking syrup of ipecac that you watch a GIF of Rittenhouse crying at the stand.

(5,969 posts)why he wasn't convicted for carrying that rifle?

(4 posts)Well, since I watched the entire trial, yes I do know why the charges were dropped. My question is: do
YOU know. You tell me why and I would be happy to provide my analysis on your explanation.

(4 posts)Since you have not replied to my reply I will provide you a link that covers all of the layers and nuances related to the outrageous dismissal of Kyle Rittenhouses weapons charge. I will say, in short, that the biased judge bought the defenses argument using a law that was written in the 80s to allow people under 18 to use a long rifle for HUNTING animals, not people.

(3,373 posts)They paid for his bail, they paid for his defense.
Now let them pay for what could be a multi-million dollar award.

(32,178 posts)Please show me an attorney that is going to spend that just to "bankrupt" R. And no, his defense contributors are not liable for anything.

(3,373 posts)Will they offer to pay a civil judgment for him too? I don't know. I know Mr. Pillow isn't liable for Rottenlittlehouse's actions, only that he's been quite generous so far.
And personal injury attorneys take on contingent fee cases all the time. Many have become quite rich by agreeing to take up to 1/3rd of the award, and eating the costs if the verdict goes against their client. Whether the execrable little shooter has any assets to be turned over in the case of an award, I don't know, but he'll probably be getting some $$ from OANN and the rightwing speakers' bureaus now that he can brag publically about killing and getting away with it. He does actually have a big income potential, as sick as that is.
Obviously there are attorneys willing to take the case, because at least one has already been filed.
Rittenhouse will have to pay his attorneys, however. Defense attys don't have the same option to work on contingency. Maybe the donors will step up again.
