Have most people put January 6th behind them?

I heard Michelle Goldberg, NYTimes, say that on MSNBC, yesterday.

Is it true that most folks have put the attack on our Capitol behind them and it is no longer an issue?

I find that hard to believe.

However, I do remember the assassination of JFK and people were able to put that behind them. They accepted the official story that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman. Even after Oswald was murdered before he could talk.

But, as tragic as was the assassination of JFK, it was not a threat to the very survival of our democracy.

Somehow, this story is different, it seems to me.

Reality sucks but it’s worth paying attention to.

If you ask the average voter if they were concerned about what happened, they’d say “yes”, but it’s not something they dwell on. The don’t spend their days on political blogs and watching cable news. They have jobs and families that are the focus of their lives.

The news media is all over it. Unlike many people, I watch the news on several networks and read a major metro area newspaper every morning. As the anniversary date approaches, even more coverage is happening.

Of course, if you have shut off all news, you won't hear much about it. Others, though, will hear and read plenty.

All the more reason that the upcoming public hearings need to be broadcast loud and clear and repeated ad nauseum in short 60-second Tik Tok-like clips that even the most ADHD people can easily digest.

The rest go about their lives either living in apathy or in fact-free contradiction.

None of us should, and we need to pressure the media to not put it behind them either.

I believe the evidence they have been doing that is so they can raise the stakes in the elections by slamming Biden at every turn, completely dismissing what our country has been dealing with for the past 6 -7 years.

this is infuriating.
