(111,111 posts)He is out of touch with reality. Lights were flashing yellow and he never noticed. He had numerous opportunities to right the ship but he failed each and every time.
The Republicans loved him because he had a couple of big victories, with the Supreme Court and with blocking everything the Democrats proposed, which their Party simply loved, while the Democrats seemingly simply slept? Whatever the reason, he once had tremendous respect within his own Party.
But, the saddest part is: He saw and understood the type of character that Trump was and chose to ignore it. He knew for sure after the 1st impeachment. He was thoroughly warned about what would likely happen if they turned a blind eye to their responsibilities. They chose, as a Party, led by Mitch McConnell, to turn a blind eye.
Even after the insurrection on January 6th, Mitch McConnell knew exactly what had happened, and he chose to go along with the wishes of his Party. He would lead them. They would not convict after the 2nd impeachment.
After all that has happened, we are requested to give credibility to Mitch McConnell?
I don't think so.
He gives weasels a bad name..

Stopped listening when Cornell and Smiley said Obama wasn't black enough.
Plus Obama hurt their fee fees.

(16,646 posts)That's what went through my head when I read the title of this o.p. Then I read the post and said, "Oh, that one."
There were so many possibilities that I didn't even try to guess. (The fact that it was a Republican was, of course, a foregone conclusion.)

(51,660 posts)I can't stand to watch him for 1/10 of a second. He is pure evil, through and through. I wish that he would die by being drawn and quartered and on TV so I could rejoice and celebrate. I want him to suffer more than the suffering that he has caused others throughout his indecent life. Everyone I know feels the exact same way...we have talked about it for years. I have wonderful fantasies of how he will suffer and that still is too kind an outcome for this miserable cretin.
I hate him as much as I despise the fucking moron.
