(1,301 posts)Over the whole concept of filibuster "reform" or elimination. It's astonishing we haven't after a year at least made it to the point where a full-on talk-all-night bit of performance art is required rather than the sorry game it is now.

They can count on Democrats to keep them from, say, ending Social Security and Medicare, which would end them being elected. But, with the filibuster, they can claim they tried and that the dastardly Democrats stopped them.
The biggest role the filibuster fulfils is allowing senators to be for a thing and against it, because they never have to actually vote yes or no on it.
