Hey, heres ole Allen Weisselberg!! Been waiting to hear from HIM more than a few years now!

(32,902 posts)It's nice that Allen Weisselberg is backing him up and basically saying the same thing. I do plan to read this but I'm neither a lawyer nor an accountant.
I'll pretty much take AG Letitia James' word that this crime family is now in deep doo-doo.
Lock them all up, including Weisselberg.

(33,643 posts)And would've signed paperwork under penalty of perjury certifying the accuracy ... that's different than just running a shady night school that was bilking regular Joe's with promises of getting lessons written by Trump and teachers picked by Trump (neither was true).

(3,412 posts)Bernie Madoff went to jail? He went to jail because of fraud, that is the same thing that trump did with his university and his "foundation", he committed fraud on both. He should have been in jail and should have never been allowed to run for office.
Why is it that criminals are allowed to run for office? that needs to change.

I'm just sick and tired of hearing about that ass.
If I never saw or heard his name again I would be quite content with that. Ignoring Trump and paying him zero attention is probably the worst think anyone could ever do to him.
birdographer
(1,375 posts)I have to admit I pay less and less attention to such things now. Years of them have come and gone and he continues on with nothing changed at all. Nothing will come of it.

(839 posts)We've been hearing the BOOMS and WOOTS, the jail memes, etc. ad nauseum since the beginning of this mob boss's 1st impeachment trial.
I'll be impressed when I hear a judge sentence him and his klan, and he/they get led away in cuffs. Until then... whatever.

(7,645 posts)sure, plenty of Trump's useful idiots have been arrested and charged but nothing much yet on the higher ups although that presser Garland gave and Joe's statement does encourage me.
What discourages me about this possible plan coordinating the hammer to come down at a time to maximize the political damage to the GOP in the next election is that... Dem Executive branch supposedly don't even talk to, nevermind plan anything like that with the DOJ. The mere appearance of such is abhorrent.
Dems always play it straight but unlike the old black and white movies and TV shows, the good guy doesn't win.

(1,910 posts)You can feel the shift coming as Trump is gradually being seen as a liability. The wing nuts will shift from him to Desantis so fast it will make his head spin.
Desantis will be their new king. They got about all they can get out of Trump. Desantis will be our opponent in 2024.

If Civil why not criminal? Or is Civil the strategy to bringing Criminal charges after?

(7,288 posts)Too hard to prove?
That would be astonishing to me. But maybe that's the case, or that it's too weak? Or maybe easier to obtain documents proving fraud in a Civil lawsuit?
Just still puzzling.

(3,245 posts)if the misstatement is material in nature (i.e. a third party relying on them and altering their decisions based off those misstatements) and are done with intent to mislead that third party, then the issue of fraud may arise.

(17,122 posts)She was talking about trump business inflating property values for loans and insurance, dropping the same property values to lowball taxes, said one property was valued at 291 million dollars, but was actually not worth more than 50 million dollars. The source of the higher figure was a phone call between either a bank officer or insurance agent and eric trump.
I'd love to see someone do a skit with eric trump speaking through a handkerchief over his phone, trying to disguise his voice in that conversation. Or holding his nose shut with his fingers. lolol
