Kyrsten Sinema, currently the Arizona Democratic senator who is blocking a vote to pass voting rights legislation and save American democracy, came out as bisexual on the floor of the Arizona legislature in 2005, when she was an Arizona Democratic House member.
It was a time of intensive battles over LGBTQ rights and marriage amendments and it immediately gained Sinema national recognition and support, as well as endorsements and money from state and national LGBTQ rights group.
:snip:
To the contrary, she bizarrely told me that she couldnt remember her coming out when I interviewed her seven years after she announced she was bisexual, in 2012 on my SiriusXM program, when she was striking a decidedly different political pose.
:snip:
This was perhaps the first warning sign that Sinemas ambitions were exceedingly dangerous, that she was willing to go much further than other politicians who feel they need to sometimes play down past actions. She was ready to jettison it all, and, in a methodical, robotic fashion, morph into something else with ease.
:snip:
That Sinema called the late great John Lewis a hero while she wont let the voting rights bill named after the civil rights leader be voted into law is a slap in the face to millions of African-Americans. Sinema has been courting billionaire donors and attending fundraisers, taking money from pharmaceutical companies and just checking out entirely, while the rest of the party is working hard to save this nation from authoritarianism as Donald Trump promotes the Big Lie and Republicans are passing laws to rig elections.

(10,156 posts)I thought she would be a bombshell when she was sworn in. Bisexual senator and well I thought maybe she would be stellar. But her true colors are disgusting and vile. Sadly I think we were all fooled at first. My biggest red flag was when she clapped for Trump many times during his SOTU address.

(1,666 posts)In order to take down the opposition, start your career as the opponent, work your way up gaining trust, then turn on a dime when you are in position to vote how you want for a few years.
There is no law that says it is illegal to run as one party, then make a switch. There is no law that says planning that ahead of time, years in advance, is against the law.
That is next level infiltration.
I wonder if that is what they took away from Judge Souter and his transformation to liberal views? Did they see that and realize stealth candidates are the way to go?
Nay
(12,051 posts)Democratic primaries and, when they get in (by posing as 'libs'), they start acting like their real selves. We need serious vetting of primary candidates. Not everyone can run as a Democrat. Out tent isn't that big.
Talk about complete takeover. It's here, folks.
