Man refuses kidney transplant that requires vaccine

by WKRC
Saturday, January 29th 2022

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WSOC/CNN Newsource/WKRC) - A North Carolina man in need of a lifesaving kidney transplant says he would rather die than get the COVID-19 vaccine ...

Chad Carswell is a double amputee and has undergone major surgeries on his heart. But it is his kidney that is only functioning at 4%. He is undergoing dialysis three times a week and is in need of a transplant ...

"They said, you know, the last thing we need talk about your vaccination status," Carswell said. "And that's when I politely told him there was nothing really to talk about it, it wasn't up for debate that I wasn't getting it. And then he told me, you know, you know, you'll die if you don't get it. And I said, I'm willing to die" ...

Carswell says he's had COVID-19 twice and doesn't believe he needs the vaccine, even if it means he can't get his surgery ...

and that someone likely isn't suicidal but thankful for it.
What a fking idiot. The reason why hospitals insist on getting the vaccine is how severe the medication after a transplant affects your immune system.
What a waste of resources. And as one can see, this wasn't just a conversation between him and his doctor. He apparently felt the need to inform the media about his heroic stance. The virtue signalling of the right is so stupid.

Double amputee, with heart disease, and an antivaxer too. Why are they even thinking about wasting a
kidney on him.

"I'm willing to die."

organ transplants. There aren't enough organs for all the patients who need them, and noncompliance with treatment plans reduces the quality and duration of life added by the transplantation. If you aren't going to be a good steward of this precious limited resource, you shouldn't get it ahead of someone who will.

He has no problem with the medical care that kept him alive through multiple amputations and heart surgeries, all of which included medications that he probably can’t pronounce and has no idea how they’re made or how they were approved. But a vaccine? That’s his line in the sand. That’s not rational. That’s not normal. That’s a cult.
