The answer: a resounding yes.
4 years ago I was out of work. NO ONE was hiring for permanent positions and few were hiring for temps. I was on COBRA which was draining my resources. As an over 50 I was afraid I might never find full time permanent work again. Putting away money for retirement had stopped. I still owed 55K on my house and still had some credit card bills to take care of. It was taking a toll on my mental health.
Today I have a full time permanent position with company paid health insurance. My compensation is around 15% better than it was with the company that laid me off in the fall of 2008. Job security at this point is excellent. My retirement savings I'm putting toward my 401K is nearly maxed out. I owe less than $37K on my house and I'm now paying extra on my payment to lower the principle even faster. My credit card and other bills are around $1000 and most of them will be paid off within the month. With some help with a professional my mental health is much better and without medication.
I am better off and I WILL vote accordingly on Tuesday for President Obama. Any other questions Mr. Romney?

But I'm still voting for Obama, because I know who is to blame.

(552 posts)I would say so. We were on the brink of a depression, and if we had followed the Republican doctrine that is where we would be. We would be in a worse position than Europe.
If this election goes the wrong way, that is where we will be heading, because austerity will kill the economy, and God help those who are sick or need a hand up, because they will be on their own.
