Should we celebrate?

Is it "news" when one of these "events" isn't in the national news for more than 4 days? I am finding myself becoming numb to all of the mass shootings anymore. It is almost like a rarity to see none on the news when I turn on the TV. What has the country become?

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - Eight people were shot at a lounge on Broad Street overnight, authorities said.

Three people are in critical condition following the shooting at the VVS1 Hookah Lounge in the 500 block of Broad Street, according to Deputy Chief Franklin Fondel, spokesman for the Lake Charles Police Department.
