Trump must be removed from our society. He is still talking sedition and now he is talking about ending the constitution, as he runs for president. He is without a doubt the biggest threat to our country. It is time to put an end to this traitor.
I believe Garland and Smith will end the nightmare called Trump. It's no longer, should, will, Trump be indicted. It is now, Trump must be indicted.
If the indictment, conviction, imprisonment, of Trump leads to some violence, chaos, So be it. We have to end this. We have to go through the pain of of convicting a former president who turned traitor.
I will consider this growing pains for our nation. It's time for our nation to grow up.

I want the deranged sonofabitch muzzled but the more he spews his vomitus bilge the more he confesses..."openly, transparently" (stealing classified documents)..his latest confession is that of a cornered rabid animal... he wants his "toy" back.. the Oval Office=immunity from prosecution..

He may think there are no "peers", but in the eyes of the law, we are all "peers".

Whats it gonna take? Does he have to shoot an elected official on Fifth Avenue? Or is that okay as well?

(363 posts)As long as 45 spouts out this nonsense, his followers will do whatever they can to make this real. Well, they almost succeeded on J6. This sounds more like at first, if you dont succeed, then try again.
Since the alleged seditionists in the House were never censured nor expelled from Congress, the potential for another overturn is also there.

(1,858 posts)But the real story here is not Trumps panic about his fading relevance and his legal exposure; its that Trump remains the presumptive presidential nominee for the Republican Party in 2024. The leader of the Republican Party has just called for the overthrow of our fundamental law and the installation of a dictator.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement: The American Constitution is a sacrosanct document that for over 200 years has guaranteed that freedom and the rule of law prevail in our great country. The Constitution brings the American people togetherregardless of partyand elected leaders swear to uphold it. Its the ultimate monument to all of the Americans who have given their lives to defeat self-serving despots that abused their power and trampled on fundamental rights. Attacking the Constitution and all it stands for is anathema to the soul of our nation, and should be universally condemned. You cannot only love America when you win.
But Republicans, so far, are silent on Trumps profound attack on the Constitution, the basis of our democratic government.
That is the story, and it is earth shattering.

(9,674 posts)We know who the Never Trumpers are. Now we need to find out who the Only Trumpers are.
From Congressional Republicans' silence on the issue, one will have to assume ALL of them are.

The major media should doggedly confront every MAGA politician with it, demanding an answer as to whether or not they will now denounce Trump and kick him out of their Party.

(15,073 posts)Too bad this self-delusional person came along to open the gates of hell. He's got the reverse Midas Touch. Everything he touches turns to shit. But there are evidently millions of Americans who like it that way. They watch Fox "news," they gobble up every iota of wingnut crap flying around the web, they hang on every thought that drools from the orange creatures mouth, and they no longer have any sense of reality.
They want Trump to be "Dear Leader," and if he can't be, they'll "take to the streets." They are the greatest threat to our country, our freedoms and our way of life.

(6,865 posts)It takes a lot more than provable guilt to remove an oligarch from American society. We didn't even imprison the officers who lead brutal military campaigns against the union at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives. Wouldn't be seemly to go around arresting and imprisoning the scions of wealthy families for simply speaking their minds. I mean, who did they harm anyway? Their fellow autocrats didn't suffer, did they? So, what if a few million minions get mislead into supporting an insurrection. Mice in a cage will act like mice after all. Minions will be minions.
Who's complaining? The usual loud mouths who still like to think their concerns have any value in a system that entitles them to "rights"? Certainly not those who worship the (read in a deeply profound inner voice) American Justice System. That system which has adopted every civilized legalistic manipulation devised over millennia thro...... blah blah blah......ous to provide liberty and justice for all! AMEN! Those people are too busy being freaking knocked over by the realization that their precious system is totally incapable of saving anything, even itself. Unable to even find a single enforceable pronouncement to define the "live on tee vee" evidence everybody's already seen with their own eyes. That's why its officially ignored in a mad ploy to convince enough people that it never even happened at all.
It's the sixties all over again: every protest for justice is put down extra hard to satisfy the urges of the brutalists (and their mothers) in our midst while those protesting give themselves over to disillusion and, ultimately, exhausted despair. It will continue thus until some bright lad finds the perfect war scenario to magically dispel the phantom inflation fraud by plundering some poor people somewhere to cough up a little extra for the cause. That, my friends, is the actual proof the world is not flat.

(38,454 posts)Trump will pay because that is the..."final straw." .................."Final Straw"...meaning while most people
will give Trump room, (a lot of room)..to say this & that, but this statement today proves to most people & to most professional politicians of both parties, that Trump is ....NUTS..... It is simple................
.Here is the simple argument..." that Donald Trump is NUTS..."
1. We did NOT suspend the Constitution during the Civil War..(we fought to protect it, & Lincoln was great!)
2. We did NOT suspend the Constitution during World War I...Did we?
3. We did NOT suspend the Constitution during World War II..Did we?
4. We did NOT suspend the Constitution following Kennedy's Assassination. Did We?
5. We did NOT suspend the Constitution during Nison's Watergate hearings Did We?
6. We did NOT suspend the Constitution after 9/11 ...Did We?...
Well that is enough proof that Trump's statement is far beyond the..." Loony Toons"
(apologies to all toon fans out there.)
Donald Trump just proved to most knowledgeable people that care about the U.S.A..................
.........................that he is.. "TOTALLY NUTS!!!!"

(6,865 posts)But can you imagine a scenario in which TFG actually spends time in any kind of prison before every conceivable excuse not to convict him has been exhausted and re-exhausted and pigeonholed off to the side just in case there's another reason somebody, perhaps yet unborn, can think of to explain why he shouldn't go to jail?
It has taken about 2 years to get permission to tell him "no, bad ex-president". It'll take another 2 years to disconnect his prosecution from his fake presidential campaign. When he loses in 2024, it'll keep the courts busy for another 2 years proving the government's prosecution wasn't the reason for his loss. If Republicans gain anything in 2024 the prosecution may well be forced to just abandon the case.
In the face of that kind of thinking I find it hard to feel positive. We're 23 months in and the lousy SOB is still at large. TFG in cuffs, just once before I go to that big complaint department and whiner convention in the sky I wanna see TGF in cuffs and an orange jump suit. (Manacles would be a nice touch, too.)

(1,996 posts)The man at the very least is guilty of treason and sedition and deserves expulsion. No, there has not been an arrest, trial or conviction. But have you not seen nor heard enough regarding tRump from January 6, 2021 until now to form an opinion? That is all mine is, opinion that tRump is guilty and is the greatest single threat the United States of America faces at present.

(22,936 posts)Flynn, Bannon, et al) in conjunction with the Oath Keepers and The Proud Boys. Trump was supposed to declare martial law (which suspends the Constitution) and call on militias(Proud Boys et.) to enforce a takeover of the electoral system.
