Despite my reservations as to whether Herschel Walker has the qualifications of the Republican candidate to be the junior senator from Georgia, and if hed be up to the job, Id like to suggest another path
Regardless as to whether he is elected or not, it seem clear that he would be the perfect candidate to fill out the Donald Trump 2024 presidential ticket. Obviously, Mr. Walker will walk behind Mr. Trump at a respectful distance, hed know to never up-stage the top of the ticket, and he already appreciates Trumpian transactional loyalty above all.
Mr. Walker seems perfectly capable of reading Republican campaign points off a teleprompter that werewolfs are preferred to vampires (though vampires are cool people). Practical considerations suggest that its a good idea for the candidate to settle on how many kids hes fathered, deny funding abortions (despite receipts), and continue lying about academic credentials. Bring on the fake badges!
Imagine Herschel ramping up a MAGA crowd with "
our good air decided to float over to China's bad air, so when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move
so it moves over to our good air space
Hell then go on to claim everything bad that happens is Joe Bidens fault and the solution to inflation, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and renewed Covid outbreaks all converge at Hunters laptop. Wow! Hed have the crowd in a frenzy for the Big Man!
Trump/Walker 2024! Thats the ticket!

(8,358 posts)I love the gaslighting. After causing an amazing uproar, Ye lets slide that he invited Trump to be his VP.

1) Give him a sporting chance at getting AZ back
2) Let him claim he's not anti-woman
3) Keep his election-denying base happy
Of course whether or not points 1 & 2 are true is completely up for argument

Kari has that going for her.
MissMillie
(38,597 posts)The GOP will want her to stay in the House. Her anger-tainment tactics raise a lot of money, and if she has some sort of power in the house, she'd be a fundraising powerhouse--getting money not only from her district, but from all over the country.
(Unless of course she ends up doing (or being involved in) something completely stupid and scandalous, which is entirely possible.)

(47,651 posts)She has her own agenda.
MTG truly believes she is headed for the White House.
And Trump is her ticket.
At least for now. She will discard him in a minute if there is another way to power.
MTG appears scandal proof. Drugs, sexual scandals, messy divorce.
No one seems to mind her behavior at all.
I wonder how a freshman congress member got so much power so quickly.
???

(38,597 posts)It's TFG's pick to make. So what MTG wants would appear to be besides the point.
And MTG appears scandal-proof in her district, not nation-wide. In a position of power in the House, she would raise tons of money from GOPers for GOP candidates.
My prediction is dependent about TFG thinking things through somewhat rationally (LOL),
But other factors come into play as well, such whether "purple" states (such as AZ and GA) continue their tend towards "blue" or not.

(47,651 posts)She is manipulating him in every way possible.
We know that Trump is quite easily manipulated.
Yes we certainly cannot predict TFG's future behavior based on rational thought.
We must base it on his psychopathology.
MissMillie
(38,597 posts)But I also think that TFG could be persuaded to leave her right where she is, because of her value to the GOP in the House.
I'm also considering that while MTG is fiercely loyal to TFG, TFG is loyal to no one--he'd roll over anyone who got in his way.
And I think Kari Lake brings everything a MTG does to the GOP presidential ticket--maybe more.
Irish_Dem
(47,651 posts)She is the one he would probably choose.
And he could be manipulated by members of the GOP to dump MTG.

(47,651 posts)Trump hates it when people get more air time than he does.
Also Walker may not be docile enough for Trump who prefers the Pence model.
But I hear you, Walker is on the list of possible VPs, I agree.
