He comes off allegedly as a GOP moderate and said a few decent things like 'work together' solve inflation issues'.
When George Stephanopoulos pressed him on would he vote for that former president that would be in favor of suspending the US Constitution, this is where things went south. He would not answer the question. Geoge asked the same question 3 or 4 times and the best he could get out of Joyce is 'I will support the Republican nominee, whoever it is but it's a crowded field and I don't think trump will be the nominee.' George ended it by saying, 'so you can't tell me you wouldn't support someone who wants to suspend the Constitution.'
I don't trust Joyce. He seems Youngkin-lite to me. I firmly believe that if trump got the nomination he would fall in line in a New York minute..

(18,672 posts)One of a dying breed, I've heard him make some good comments and answers to questions. He is however, a faithful old school republican. He took over my new district after they erased Tim Ryan through redistricting.
I don't think Jim Jordan would fare well here.

(2,056 posts)The tRump rot couldn't have taken hold, and we wouldn't be dealing with it now, except for republicans who know better pulling the lever for whatever name has the R next to it, no matter who that person is.
GOP policies do not serve their constituents, and national polls and recent ballot initiatives show them at odds with their voters, but as long as they will "support the Republican nominee, whoever it is", the bigots, election deniers, authoritarians, and idiots are free to rule the party without account.

(8,281 posts)over, he would not have appeared on This Week.
His over all voting record demonstrates he is no moderate, but make no mistake, he is at the tipping point and knows when to not wander into tea party territory.
Basically, he has no spine.
There is a nasty right wing newspaper that is delivered as bulk mail to Cleveland suburbs.
It gives Joyce column space.
What I found interesting is that this local tea party rag posted an article on MSNBC host Tiffany Cross, before she was fired. Keith Olbermann said a right wing campaign to get her fired was mounted against MSNBC.
David Joyces column in this issue if typical. His association with this rag is highly questionable.
