Kirstie Alley Dies Following Cancer Battle The "Cheers" actor was 71

Kirstie Alley, the actor who starred in the iconic sitcom “Cheers” and dozens of other films and movies, has died after a battle with cancer. She was 71.

Her children confirmed her death Monday, saying the cancer was “only recently discovered” and that she’d been in treatment at Florida’s Moffitt Cancer Center.
.....

Alley was also outspoken about politics in recent years and was one of few Hollywood celebrities to support Donald Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections. She also expressed support for the violent rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 last year following Trump losing his bid for reelection.

Outside of acting, Alley was known for practicing Scientology and being a spokesperson for Jenny Craig’s weight-loss system.

When Kelly Preston died we talked about it and she said that she was taught to basically believe that physical and mental health issues could be worked through following their teachings. She said that some do believe that they'll never be afflicted with diseases such as cancer and that it was well known but unspoken about how this prevented people from getting an early diagnosis.
She said she knew several growing up who weren't diagnosed until it was terminal.
