(15,394 posts)One of the phony ways republicans try to convince people of stolen elections is that in-day voting, which favors republicans, is normally counted first with early voting and mail-ins, which favor democrats afterwards. So it looks like they're winning 'bigly,' and then are somehow and mysteriously overtaken later on.

(36,557 posts)A friend of a friend on FB claimed that democrats were voting multiple times by going from precinct to precinct. I explained that if your name isn't in the precinct poll book, you would be directed to your correct precinct & if you couldn't get there in time to vote, you'd be given a provisional ballot. He asked what a provisional ballot was & I suggested maybe he volunteer as an election judge or poll watcher to learn how the process works. Highly doubtful he will, though.
You can't argue with stupid.

(82,849 posts)I mean, he got authoritative information from his cousin's hairdresser's brother's dog-walker that Democrat voters were going from precinct to precinct and casting dozens and dozens of ballots! No, nobody can say where this happened. One of those sort-of rectangular states, maybe.
That's the problem with these made-up stories, is that as soon as you start probing for particulars their nonsense falls apart like a Jenga tower.

What's ironic is that the repubs used to push voting absentee not too long ago. When Covid was in full swing I switched to mail in/absentee voting. So I am now one of those proud Dems to vote this way.

(9,182 posts)Most polls show Warnock with about a 3-4 point lead. However, I think Walker has been deflating the past two weeks, so I'm going to go with 4 points on this one. 5 if Republicans are really unmotivated, which I get the feeling may be the case.
