A new editorial published on FoxNews.com is declaring former President Donald Trump's presidential ambitions to be officially dead.
In an opinion piece titled "Herschel Walker just wrote Donald Trump's political obituary," columnist Liz Peek declared that the defeat of Trump's handpicked Georgia Senate candidate should signal to the party that it's time to move on.
"Having suffered the rare humiliation of failing to win a second term in the Oval Office, and having cost his party a majority in the senate three times it is time for Donald Trump to step away from politics," she wrote. "It is the right thing to do for his party, for the country, and for himself."
Of course, Trump is not stepping away from politics, as he has already announced his candidacy for the presidency in the 2024 election. Nonetheless, Peek argues that Trump is a bigger asset for Democrats, whose donors churned out significant sums of money to beat Trump-endorsed candidates this past election cycle and who remain incredibly motivated to see him remain out of the Oval Office.
Peek believes that all of this shows that Trump is a fading power who is ripe to be picked off by a younger challenger.

I don't want to link to FoxNews directly, but if anyone wants to read the full editorial, there's a link in the Raw Story article.
The fact that a piece like this was published on FoxNews.com says a lot to me. If Faux Noise is turning on Trump, I think his chances for 2024 are well and truly screwed. I wonder how long it will take him to realize it?

I don't know why we would be surprised at such a story. What the king-maker creates, the king-maker can taketh away.

To the last part... I say, "I hope he never realizes it" Trump is a despicable man, but he became president for one reason, The Conservative Movement and their political vehicle, the Republican Party decided that obtaining power was worth more than respecting the institutions of this country. Donald Trump would have had ZERO chance of ever being selected as the leader of the Democratic Party. It is the ideology and the character of Conservatives/Republicans that allowed him anywhere near power, and they deserve to burn to the ground.
Some people have said, "We need a stable Conservative opposition party in America" No the hell we don't! We can use a left leaning and center party, but have NO USE for right wing politics. People don't seem to understand that right wing and left/center parties have fundamentally different views of the world and of where power should lay. Conservatives are the descendants of Monarchism and Aristocracy, except their "nobility" is not founded on heredity, but on Wealth and Power, which given long enough, becomes like a hereditary aristocratic system since the sons and daughters of the wealthy will often get the best schools, best job, and most connections so as to become involved in politics or industry as leaders.
Liberals and left leaning people can have very strong disagreements as well, but there is at least some common ground that societies should be as equitable as possible. With Conservatives, equality is not a real goal.
