that she wanted to enact. She might have been too conservative for some and too liberal for others, but she had a plan.
It seems other than becoming Speaker and having power to do others bidding, McCarthy doesn't give two shits what happens to America. While he will try to enact various right-wing garbage bills, I don't think he has any beliefs or vision.

She's far too wise and competent to interfere with the new leadership, whom she helped choose and bring along to this point, but she and her talents and experience will of course remain a priceless asset, and available to them.
Someday, perhaps when she is dead, hopefully more people will realize just how strongly liberal and progressive she is. She's famous among those who know for always being A LOT MORE progressive and MORE liberal, with more ambitious goals, than most Democrats and the representatives we elect. The real thing in gold.
(Btw, note that people too uncooperative and ineffectual to be able to make progressive legislation happen, notably including barn-burner anti-establishment populists, are not just not progressive but incompatible with it. No matter what they call themselves. Progressivism's far more than a political label chosen from a list of words that tested well, and they are no standard to judge the real thing we fill our congressional caucuses with.)

I'm looking forward, in a dark way, to what they're going to try. Uhoh, McCarthy's life jacket is in our boat.
We live in interesting times.
