Hard to know what happened here with certainty.

The tape looks bad for De Leon. But he's claiming he was head-butted before the cameras rolled and that a staffer was elbowed in the face. What's the truth? Who knows, at this point?

The protester is part of a far-left group that has been creating chaos at City Hall and not only for De Leon (although for him certainly), but for the whole council previous to the scandal. They are known as the "People’s City Council."

A termed-out Councilperson Paul Koretz (my councilperson) who is ordinarily mild-mannered, just told this group to "fuck off" as his final words in office.

Karen Bass will assume the mayor's office tomorrow during interesting times. VP Harris will swear in Bass this Sunday.

Several years running in and out of LA from San Diego or other states, depending on my job, and lived in San Diego for a number of years and all I can say is, glad I'm not there 24/7. Anymore, CA is not on my list of destinations even though most of my immediate family now reside there. I'll go visit but only if I have to like for my mom's passing and her funeral but I'll only go if I have a return ticket to get out at a given time not to exceed 48 hours.

I love living here.

Can't deny that chaos reigns at City Hall.

Do well in the city, some of my siblings are into the city life and live in several California cities. I'm the odd one out, I need to see lots of space between buildings and plenty of forest close by.

6. My little corner of LA is blessed with many trees, local mountains, and a good deal of green space.

And we have fairly large grounds that I've laboured to make park-like, with some large mature oaks and plantings with native plants, herbs, and roses with meaning gravel paths. So a bit of a sanctuary from "city life," while still being able to enjoy the cultural richness of my city.

I'm fortunate.

Is DeLeon the guy in the white shirt? Can’t beat up your constituents, no matter how aggravating.

10. To my eye, it looks like De Leon's claim of having been headbutted is accurate.

Looks like that happened several times, in fact. Not extreme headbutts, but enough to justify self-defense.

I have never been a fan of De Leon's politically, and the crap he and others spewed on the tape is cause for his resignation (and recall if he fails to see the light); however, Jason Reedy (the People's Council "activist" ) took this physical confrontation too far.

Pox on both.

sympathetic to him and he will probably be re-elected . This is the problem with some of these "activist" groups .

Personally don't find much sympathy for him though since De Leon sided with same type of people to go after Feinstein .

15. De Leon did "benefit" from similar groups using similar tactics against Sen. Feinstein.

Made me sick then, and now.

I don't see De Leon getting any sympathy, however. His day is done.
