Independent State Legislatures?

What happens if all the State Legislatures become Democratic?

But, as we know, Republicans live in the moment. They never plan for the future.

How long do they think voters will tolerate state legislatures voting for them for president, when many have only gotten their majority thru gerrymandering. The "true majority" is not in charge of many of these legislatures.

Also, it is a question about separation of powers. The Supreme Court may be able to rule on the legality of legislative issues but they are not able to dictate how another branch of government does its job. To rule against the state courts would be to rule against themselves.

It's a silly question but the Supreme Court has agreed to take it up. Who would be surprised if they made a favorable ruling for Trump and the Republicans before the general election of 2024?

They could make legal what the Trump team tried to do illegally in 2020.

1. The GOP seems quite confident they will have permanent control of enough states.

But, I think Democrats made progress in a few state legislatures in the last election?

The GOP is very serious about gaining permanent control and installing a white male, christian minority rule.

While we are serious about maintaining a multicultural democracy.

The stakes could not be higher.

Right now, the autocracies of the world are gaining power and trying to shift global power.
The GOP has been a willing participant in this power shift.

We are watching this story unfold every day.

if the SC rules for absolute authority of the states to run elections then Magats will certainly control the House forever, and make it easier for them to rig Senate races.

The same can be said about Supreme Court expansion. If we do it, so will they.

in which the Federal government has no jurisdiction or authority in state and local politics. In effect, Ariticle VI of the Constitution doesn't apply.
