Yes, a single vote does count - Massachusetts House flipped to Democrat

Last edited Sun Dec 11, 2022, 04:38 PM - Edit history (1)

DEC. 8, 2022 (STATE HOUSE NEWS SERVICE) -

Democrat Kristin Kassner jumped into the lead over five-term Republican Rep. Lenny Mirra after a district-wide recount erased her narrow deficit and put her ahead by a single vote, an infinitesimally tight outcome that the incumbent plans to challenge in court.

.....If the result holds, it would reflect another blow for Republicans, who lost every Massachusetts statewide race including the corner office, and expand the gains Democrats made to their legislative supermajority this cycle.

that Colorado is pretty good at elections. He is not expecting a change in the result. (Also, Tina Peters had nothing to do with it this year.)

Yeah, I'm disappointed too, but he's right.

(I believe the deadline was) a week after the election. It was still close enough after the curing that a recount ws required by strate law, and was done, although Adam had already conceded. I don't know where they are in it, but don't expect it to change the result. It won't.

Just got this email from Adam FRisch -

Good evening –

Colorado’s secretary of state just announced the results of our recount. As we expected a minimal number of votes changed, and the results have been upheld. The final result was a loss by a mere 546 votes out of the 327,133 votes cast, a change of only a net 4 votes from the recount. Given the expectations by press and pundits were a loss of around 10%, we all should be proud of the work and effort. It also goes to show the Colorado election process is rock solid.

We want to thank you again for your help, support, and encouragement over the past months. Without it, we could not have gotten as close as we did. I am going to spend the holidays enjoying quality time with my family and reflecting on the past few months but expect me to be back in touch early next year. Here is a link to the press release that just went out from our team.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season.

With Gratitude -

Adam

Guess my fingers didn't want to type out Massachusetts - so they went automatically to "Maine" (at least I got the general area correct)
