"SNIP......

Twitter on Monday night abruptly dissolved its Trust and Safety Council, the latest sign that Elon Musk is unraveling years of work and institutions created to make the social network safer and more civil.

Members of Twitter’s Trust and Safety Council received an email with the subject line, “Thank You,” that informed them the council was no longer “the best structure” to bring “external insights into our product and policy development work.”

The email dissolution arrived less than an hour before members of the council were expecting to meet with Twitter executives via Zoom to discuss recent developments, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the plans.

Dozens of civil rights leaders, academics and advocates from around the world had volunteered their time for years to help improve safety on the platform.

.......SNIP"

Many see it as a negative only, but it is not. "All involved", in this case, includes ALL the people affected by this decision, the ones he just let go. Do they deserve protection? Fair treatment? Unemployment benefits? Much better jobs? May they receive everything THEY deserve, as well.

I’ve been watching, perhaps too much, in horror since Musk took over and becoming aware how much I fear he’s literally trying to get people killed. His latest round of attacks on the vaccinated, on liberals and Democrats, on LGBTQ+ folks, and the glee with which he eggs on the most vitriolic responses has me convinced it’ll be a miracle if nobody dies as a result of this.

I can’t take it. I guess I’ll catch the results if the worst does happen. But his continued firing of anyone who could curb him says so much.

Then he will direct them to De Santis. It is I guess the only thing the GOP can do because Trump is never gonna give them up while he is alive. Plus Twitter was one place that MAGA people and Republicans and Independents were not in a Maga silo bubble. That town square has to be destroyed if you are Republican afterall how can the GOP win against reasonable liberals, who are pro democracy, otherwise?

It was always annoying but now it’s representing everything wrong. Musk is another fascist prick…why support him in any way?

Twitter's remaining reputable advertisers can't ignore this and stay reputable.

EU regulators will drop the hammer on Twitter for this. Musk's response will be interesting.
