It has been reported the committee wants all the members to unanimously agree to the criminal referrals they bring forward. I find it hard to believe Cheney would agree to anything without criminal referrals for Trump. He mission in life is to nail Trumps ass to the wall.
She made it pretty clear during the hearings she believed Trump committed major crimes and should be held accountable.

(14,340 posts)With any other candidate, none of this would have happened. Trump himself boosted the notion of a Stollen election! Cheney is willing to forgive those who were swayed by the lies. So she has a point. I'd prefer to ferret out all those who knowingly participated in a fraudulent scheme.
Cheney's position might be self-serving if she is planning to run for president and Trump is her main competition. She will need all the allies in Congress she can get, as she is not popular anymore on the R side.

(1,204 posts)Thank you for pointing this out. Republicans I talk to seem to think they can consolidate all the dangerous, reckless decisions of the past 6 years into one man, Trump - and then throw him in the trash and move on.
This should be the end of the party, period.
