(16,145 posts)I've seen over the years, him standing there, grinning with pride, like he just won a contest or something.
What a piece of garbage. And yet, he and the others involved are still there.
Still looking for more people to abuse.
There was a time when I thought that most cops were decent people and that there were a few 'bad apples'.
Now? It seems like the workplace culture ensures that those who are not routinely brutalizing people are complicit and silent about it. If you know your coworkers are doing this and you say nothing, you are as guilty as those who do it.

(4,552 posts)There is a cop who shot and killed a handcuffed, mentally ill, drug addict. He is still on the force and has been promoted. The DA refused to allow a jury to decide this case.
I try not to ever go into that town. Perkasie, Pa. 2012
Recently in New Hope, Pa. A cop shot a man in a holding cell. No charges against the cop. Big suprise.

(4,552 posts)These cops get gratification from the adrenaline rush of beating people who are smart enough not to fight back. They seek the rush and congratulate each other when they achieve it. They are cowards.

(707 posts)Make the individual liable for damages and things can start to get better. This needs to be a unified battle cry. This is the one thing every police department and union are scared to death of for a good reason.
