every single time. I cannot imagine the pain and grief those families went through but I try and that is why I tear up.

I get so angry that nothing of substance happened after this....F*$K the NRA! F*$K the GOP! F*$K Alex Jones! F*$K anyone that stood in the way of meaningful gun legislation in the aftermath of this tragedy.

I don't see how anyone could be so heartless that the murder of 20 innocent children and 6 adults protecting them doesn't get them onboard! Those people have no soul!

The fact that we have done nothing substantive with regard to the worshipping of guns in this country boggles my mind. Whose child or grandchild will be next? When will enough be enough? Everyone thinks it would never happen to their loved ones, so they go on blindly thinking they are "safe" from this nonsense. Until they're not.

Sandy Hook happened on its 20th Anniversary.

Nothing changes. It's the guns.

and of course that made it all so much worse for families who were anticipating the looks on their dead children's faces underr the tree.

And Republicans did nothing but attack the grieving parents, if they thought about them at all, and prayed no one would try to do anything about semi auto guns, they were getting so much money from the NRA.

His 18th birthday was the day of our mother's funeral. His 61st was the day of the Sandy Hook massacre. I love him so much, but his birthday brings some very sad memories.

Seems I underestimated how mentally fucked up and totally inhumane the Republican Party, the NRA, and far too many gun owners were, and still are. If the absolute horror of Sandy Hook couldn't get through to them, nothing will. They seem to belong to a different species than the rest of us.

I it was just "those" people in red states.

Well, that scrubbed the "smug" out of me.
