DTLA: Los Angeles Police Officer Brady Lamas, was charged with allegedly distributing sexually explicit images of his wife to other men. According to a criminal complaint filed this week, Lamas was charged with six counts of disorderly conduct. Lamas wife, who was not identified in the report, said she did not know the photos were taken of her or shared with people she did not know. My own husband is a predator, and he preyed on me, she wrote in a restraining order application. An LAPD spokesperson confirmed that Lamas is currently on home assignment. [LAT]

(3,234 posts)cops are a huge problem?
Daily there are things posted on here that illustrate just how bad policing is in this country. And want to take a guess where they lean politically? Republican.

(33,643 posts)With the advent of smart phones, a hell of a lot of couples document their sex life, typically to enjoy the images/videos together, but it's not that uncommon for people to decide to 'share' with others, mutually.
But then, if the relationship goes south at some point, those mutual decisions may be regretted, which may then turn into accusations of this nature, and neither person has actual proof that 'consent' was given ... or not.
I'd imagine this is especially prevalent in So Cal, where a hell of lot of porn is produced.

My heart goes out to her. And Im a white guy, which makes people assume I cant be taken advantage of, although being gay outweighs that for a lot of people who find out (especially LEOs) and who arent of the same political beliefs (Log Cabin types who have no compunction against all of the above behavior).
One of the reasons I plan to leave SC is because Ive been treated as subhuman here for speaking out, and have gotten zero assistance (and overt pushback in many cases) from everyone so far. Ive also been stalked and roofied by a fake friend pretending to speak for me when I confided in him, and I now believe he was being paid by the abuser and/or their friends. So yeah. It can get bad out there. Stay safe. Dont trust the Republicans at this point if they havent seen reason and support the Jan 6 prosecution etc. I tried to be tolerant of peoples individual beliefs over the years but their streak of authoritarianism and stochastic terrorism/anarchy has to be ended for all of us, no matter how vulnerable exactly, to have a fair, just, and prosperous nation.
I wish theyd bring out the FDR style reform asap, some of our states have declared themselves sovereign and people are suffering in all kinds of ways because they cant get the link to federal assistance without state cooperation in many cases without them being overridden. Revenge porn is apparently one of these major gaps, in addition to abortion, gay rights, freedom to be free from religion, and second/third class citizen status and access to services

(161 posts)At this point I feel like theyve delayed assistance and investigation intentionally, so Ive filed a FOIA request on the federal side to see if theyve been aware and intentionally withheld assistance or have tried running out statute of limitation clocks or something
They havent even told me where the videos are so I can review them but I know the SC LEOs are aware

I hope you find out what the hell is going on.

(161 posts)I hope to get my original stolen material back, and have the horror-show stuff taken down off of the internet eventually (it might be too widespread, I have no clue), but one way or another, Im finding out and wont back down. Ive already done the report to all levels of law enforcement, and even if I have to start a lawsuit in another state I will. They cant cover it up forever.
